Learning Objectives

After attending the Fundamentals of Endovascular Therapy Symposium at the 30th Annual International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy (ISET) participants should be able to:

  • List evidence based medicine criteria that reflect the best techniques and devices to treat cardiovascular disease.
  • Explain the benefits of medical management and the use of multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes of endovascular therapy.
  • Describe principles and techniques of venous intervention including DVT, filters, and dialysis procedures.
  • Differentiate advanced techniques and treatment for complex aneurysms.
  • Contrast the simple and complex arterial access for the performance of diverse endovascular procedures.
Intended Learners

The International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy (ISET) is designed for interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, interventional cardiologists, interventional neuroradiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, clinical cardiologists, clinical radiologists, neurologists, internists, nurses and others involved in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.

Activity Overview

The interactive educational conference will occur on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at The Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, Florida.

To be eligible for documentation of credit, participants must attend the full activity, complete an online exam, and submit a completed evaluation form. Participants who complete the exam and evaluation online within four weeks of the live meeting will immediately receive documentation of credit.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, North American Center for Continuing Medical Education (NACCME) is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

NACCME designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME.

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #13255 for 7.0 contact hours.

Nurse practitioners may participate in this educational activity and earn a certificate of completion as AANP accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ through its reciprocity agreements.

SAMs Sessions

Attendees of ISET sessions featuring SAMs credits will have the opportunity to take an online exam. The exams will be available online immediately after the conclusion of the sessions and a certificate can be claimed after successfully passing the exam.

American Board of Surgery Maintenance of Certification

Achieving a score of 75% or more on questions asked during select ISET sessions will allow the AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ earned during these sessions to count toward self-assessment credits towards Part 2 of the ABS MOC Program.

UEMS/EACCME CME Credit Recognition

The American Medical Association (AMA) has an agreement of mutual recognition of CME credit with the UEMS. Under the terms of this agreement the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), the accrediting arm of the UEMS, will convert CME credit for live activities certified by the AMA.
