ABSTRACT

As payment models shift toward value-based payment, provider reimbursement and incentives will increasingly be affected by patient experience data. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) surveys ask consumers and patients to report on and evaluate their experiences with health care. There is recognition of the relationship between CAHPS questions/outcomes and industry-recognized patient-centered access to care measures. Based on PCDC’s extensive practice coaching in the area of patient-centered access to care, this session will describe and analyze the intersection between improvement initiatives and patient experience, with the intent of improving CAHPS scores.
