Target Audience

This activity is designed for nurses and technologists who treat patients with malignant ascites.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

  • discuss the clinical manifestations of malignant ascites
  • describe the limitations of the current treatment of repeat large volume paracentesis
  • discuss the safety and efficacy of catheter based treatment such as peritoneal catheter and peritoneal ports
