This activity is designed for primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses.
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Apply guideline-directed and evidence-based approaches for the diagnosis and management of overt hypothyroidism
- Describe clinical presentation and patient factors associated with subclinical hypothyroidism
- Better monitor hypothyroidism patients’ TSH levels to tailor treatment to target, while protecting against hyperthyroidism
- Improve patient counseling to set treatment expectations and promote patient adherence
- Outline the rationale for sound medical judgment in the management of patients with hypothyroidism experiencing residual symptoms
