This activity is designed for health-system pharmacists.
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the clinical and economic impact of surgical bleeding and transfusions
- Outline the clinical profiles of available topical and systemic hemostatic agents
- Promote strategies aligned with the Joint Commission's Patient Blood Management Performance Measures Project, including optimizing hemostatic practices
- Develop pharmacy oversight of the institutional use of hemostatic agents
