This activity is designed for physicians, podiatrists, physical therapists, and nurses who treat patients with diabetic foot ulcers.
- Evaluate standard care practices for decreasing the incidence of lower-extremity amputation from diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs), including debridement, off-loading, and infection-control strategies
- Discuss safety and efficacy data for adjuvant therapies in the treatment of DFUs
- Evaluate difficult clinical cases where adjuvant therapies are appropriate
- Implement appropriate procedures for using adjuvant therapies in the treatment of DFUs
