After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the pathophysiology of thrombosis and hypercoagulability of cancer
- Apply guideline-directed risk stratification and venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis in patients with cancer
- Outline the safety and efficacy of current and investigational medications for VTE prophylaxis in patients with cancer
- Implement or adhere to discharge protocols that ensure appropriate duration of VTE prophylaxis in cancer patients transitioning from inpatient to outpatient care
