Target Audience
This activity is designed for rheumatologists and other healthcare professionals who manage the treatment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and other rheumatic diseases.
Workshop Agenda

- RA Therapy in 2010: What Are Today's Best Practices?
- Managing Inflammatory Arthritis Beyond 2010: A Look Into the Future
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Explain how clinical measurement tools have been used to achieve tight RA control and summarize how these tools can be used in clinical practice to optimize patient care
- Describe advances in imaging techniques for the diagnosis of RA and evaluation of RA disease progression
- Outline genetic associations, laboratory markers, and clinical manifestations which should be considered when initiating early, aggressive RA therapy
- Evaluate the current ACR/EULAR diagnostic and treatment criteria and their impact on the management of RA patients
- Interpret new safety and efficacy data, including those presented at ACR/ARHP, on combination therapy, triple DMARD therapy, and biologic switching
- Apply clinical trial and comprehensive registry data and available guidelines regarding current and emerging pharmacologic agents into clinical practice to achieve low disease activity or remission in patients with RA
- Employ best practices for treating RA in patients with comorbid conditions
- Describe new treatment targets and novel approaches for RA patients who have failed on conventional therapies, including mechanisms of action and safety considerations
- Compare and contrast diagnostic practices and treatment approaches for patients with SpA versus RA
