Target Audience
This activity is designed for transplant nurses, transplant coordinators, nurse practitioners, critical care nurses, social workers, and nurse case managers involved in kidney transplant patient care.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Evaluate the potential impact of differences in patient ethnicity, age, and comorbidities on adherence to immunosuppressive therapy and kidney transplantation outcomes
- Outline pre-transplantation screening and post-transplantation interventional methods to improve patient adherence to immunosuppressive therapy
- Implement patient education strategies to increase health literacy among kidney recipients and living donors
- Describe the benefits and limitations of current and emerging immunosuppressive therapies in patients undergoing kidney transplantation
