Target Audience:

This activity is designed for Cardiologists, Invasive Cardiovascular Nurses and Technologists, Cath Lab Administrators, Cardiology Fellows, and Pharmacists.


Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Evaluate registry results on the long-term efficacy and safety of different drug eluting stent platforms among real-world patients and clinical situations.
  • Describe the latest drug eluting stent trial results in various complex cases
  • Describe the risks and possible benefits of using drug eluting stents in complex lesions.
  • Discuss the differences between single center vs multi center clinical trials.
  • Apply the latest drug eluting stent clinical trial and registry results to your current and future patient caseload.
  • Describe the indications for DES which have unequivocally shown to be safe and effective?
  • Discuss new recently released clinical trial data to guide the appropriate usage of DES in complex patients and lesions
  • Discuss the role of clinical registries in evaluating outcomes following coronary intervention
  • Report the recent clinical outcomes of patients receiving drug eluting stents in the US from the STENT registry.
